Azure SQL Database Hyperscale allows configuring between 0 and 4 High Availability (HA) secondary replicas on the same logical server as the primary database. Since DB1 is currently on Hyperscale with "no secondary replicas", we can provision one or more HA replicas on the same logical server to provide read scale-out compute nodes. To route the read-only workload from App1 instances to these HA secondary replicas, we must specify `ApplicationIntent=ReadOnly` in the application's connection string, which redirects the client's queries to the read-only secondary compute nodes instead of the primary read-write node.
